Forward Deployed Engineer, Intelligent Automation
Mimica
About the role
What we are building
Mimica is an AI-powered process intelligence platform enabling enterprises and individuals to reclaim their most precious resource: time. We've all seen repetitive tasks and redundant processes quietly drain productivity and creativity. Not because companies don’t want to become more efficient, but because they don’t know where to start.
Mimica automatically analyzes your team’s work, then generates the AI agents to execute it. Our software turns everyday work into data-backed decisions, helping companies remove process bottlenecks, automate the right tasks, and upskill teams with precision and confidence.
We’ve raised $26 million in Series B financing and are scaling fast. Backed by investors including Khosla Ventures and Paladin Capital, our proprietary AI technology is trusted by Fortune 500 companies to accelerate transformation. Mimica is recognized as a Top 100 AI Start-up by Accel and an industry Leader by the Everest Group.
Our team
Behind our platform is a team of exceptionally talented people, remote-first and globally distributed across 16+ countries. We're looking for curious, collaborative people excited to solve complex problems. You'll join a fast-paced environment built on high ownership, bottom-up thinking, and transparent, open communication – helping some of the world's leading organizations transform the way work gets done with AI.
Your Mission
We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join Mimica's Intelligent Automation team. You'll embed with our enterprise customers, turn process and task-mining insights into working automations, and get them into production fast. This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role with a strong focus on agentic AI.
You'll design and ship AI agents built on frontier models such as Claude and Gemini, combine them with RPA and custom code running on Google Cloud, and bring what you learn in the field back to our product and delivery playbooks. As a senior member of the team, you'll also act as a technical leader and mentor for our Intelligent Automation developers, helping them grow their skills in RPA, AI, and engineering best practices.
Part of your day-to-day
Own customer deployments end to end – from discovery and solution design through build, testing, go-live and hypercare.
Turn process insights into automations – use process and task-mining data to find, size and prioritize the highest-value opportunities.
Design and build agentic AI solutions – create AI agents that reason, call tools and act across enterprise systems, using models such as Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google) and GPT (OpenAI).
Pick the right model and pattern for the job – compare models on accuracy, cost, latency, and data-privacy needs, and choose between agents, LLM steps, RPA, or plain code.
Make AI reliable in production – build evaluation sets, guardrails, human-in-the-loop checkpoints and monitoring so agents behave predictably at enterprise scale.
Build hybrid automation solutions – orchestrate AI agents, RPA bots, document AI and custom Python services into end-to-end workflows.
Integrate with enterprise systems – connect ERPs, CRMs, ticketing tools and legacy apps through APIs, MCP servers, connectors and UI automation.
Build and run on Google Cloud – deploy agents, services and pipelines on GCP using Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery and Pub/Sub, following our GCP architecture and security standards.
Lead and mentor Intelligent Automation developers – guide developers through design and code reviews, pairing and coaching; help them adopt agentic AI and engineering best practices.
Be the technical face to the customer – run workshops with business and IT stakeholders, explain trade-offs, and build trust with operations leaders.
Ship production-grade work – work in Git (branching, pull requests, code reviews) with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, exception handling, and security practices that meet enterprise standards.
Measure and prove value – track hours saved, error rates, and throughput, and present ROI to customer sponsors.
Close the loop with product – feed field insights, reusable components, and feature requests back to Product and Engineering, and help shape our delivery playbook.
What you will bring
Software engineering, automation engineering, or technical consulting experience, including at least 3 years delivering automation for enterprise clients.
Hands-on production experience with at least one major RPA platform (UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism).
Strong Python skills, plus solid experience with REST APIs, JSON, SQL and system integration.
Solid hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – e.g. Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, IAM – and deploying production workloads on it.
Strong Git skills: branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, resolving merge conflicts and working in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitLab or Cloud Build).
Hands-on experience building and deploying agentic AI solutions with frontier models (e.g. Claude, Gemini, GPT) – prompt and context design, tool calling, retrieval (RAG), multi-step agents and evaluation – and a clear view of where they are and aren't reliable.
Experience leading or mentoring developers through code reviews, pairing and coaching, and helping a team raise its technical standards.
Ability to translate messy business processes into clear automation designs, with sound judgment on what to automate and what to leave alone.
Confident communication with both executives and frontline operators; comfortable leading workshops and demos.
Bonus
Experience with process or task mining tools (Celonis, UiPath Process Mining or similar).
RPA certifications (e.g. UiPath Advanced Developer, Power Automate RPA Developer).
Experience with agent frameworks and protocols (e.g. Claude Agent SDK, Google ADK / Vertex AI Agent Builder, LangGraph, Model Context Protocol, UiPath Agentic Automation, Copilot Studio).
Google Cloud certifications (e.g. Professional Cloud Developer, Professional Machine Learning Engineer), plus experience with containers and infrastructure as code (Docker, Terraform).
Background in a forward-deployed, solutions engineering or Automation Center of Excellence role.
Domain knowledge in finance operations, insurance, banking or shared services.

About Mimica
Mimica transforms how enterprises understand, improve, and automate work. By capturing real activity across the desktop, Mimica turns clicks and keystrokes into detailed process maps that reveal inefficiencies and identify the best opportunities for automation. But process discovery is just the beginning. Those maps become the foundation for AI agents that execute digital work. Instead of spending months manually documenting workflows and developing automations, enterprises can move from discovery to production-ready AI agents in days. Mimica bridges the gap between process intelligence and agentic automation, helping enterprises operate more efficiently and automate at scale. Learn more at mimica.ai.
