About the role

About the Role

Join an early-stage SaaS team as its fifth engineer and own the technical direction of a production AI voice agent for sales. The agent participates in live customer calls, conducts product demonstrations through browser control, and follows up with prospects.

What You'll Do

Build agent reasoning, tool use, and memory, including recovery when live calls go off script while meeting real-time latency requirements.

Develop evaluation pipelines and data workflows that turn sales-call data into measurable improvements, and fine-tune models where useful.

Improve the reliability of browser-based product demonstrations while the agent speaks with buyers.

Ship end-to-end product work using TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js, collaborating directly with customers and design partners.

Set the agent's technical direction, including model and tooling choices, build-versus-buy decisions, and future capabilities.

What We're Looking For

Four to seven years of AI engineering experience, including at least one year owning a user-facing agent in production with real users or meaningful usage.

Experience shipping agents end to end, including evaluation, observability, and cost optimization.

Hands-on experience in voice AI, AI sales, browser agents, or a fast-growing AI company, with at least one year working on real-time voice or browser agents.

Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js, plus experience with LLM APIs, WebRTC, LiveKit, Playwright, browser automation, evaluations, fine-tuning, or reinforcement learning.

A computer science degree or another technical background, such as mathematics, physics, or engineering.

Experience working directly with customers or design partners is valuable, as are startup founding experience and background in sales technology or go-to-market tools.
