The Role
As a Software Engineer, you will build and ship the systems behind Hike’s AI healthcare platform, across our clinical software, AI agents, and manufacturing. You will own features end to end, from understanding the problem to running it in production. We care more about how you think and what you ship than about any specific language or framework.

What you will work on
Build and ship product features end to end across backend, frontend, and mobile.
Build the APIs, integrations, and data pipelines that connect our clinical, manufacturing, and back-office systems.
Help take AI features from prototype to reliable production.
Work directly with product, design, and customers to make sure what you build solves the real problem.
What we look for
2+ years shipping production software, or an exceptional track record of building things people use.
Our core platform is TypeScript and Node.js, with NestJS APIs and PostgreSQL through Prisma, running on AWS.
Strong fundamentals in backend or full-stack development.
Fluency with modern cloud and tooling and experience putting AI into production
Product-minded: you think about how your work affects real users.
A strong communicator who challenges assumptions and collaborates across engineering, AI, and product.

What we ask
In person in our San Francisco Rincon Hill office, 5 days a week.

Responsibilities
- Build and ship end-to-end product features across backend, frontend, and mobile.
- Develop APIs, integrations, and data pipelines connecting clinical, manufacturing, and back-office systems.
- Bring AI features from prototype to reliable production.
- Collaborate with product, design, and customers to solve real user problems.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years shipping production software, or an exceptional track record building products people use.
- Strong backend or full-stack development fundamentals.
- Experience with modern cloud tooling and putting AI into production.
- Product-minded approach, strong communication, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Prisma, or AWS is relevant to the core platform.

Today, getting a medical device from referral to dispense takes weeks of manual work across disconnected systems. Of the $100B spent on these devices each year, only $20B reaches an actual patient.
