About Strac

Strac is data security for the AI era. We stop sensitive data (PII, PHI, secrets, confidential files) from leaking through the tools employees actually use: AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot, MCP servers and AI agents, Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, browsers and endpoints. One platform for DLP and DSPM across AI, MCP, SaaS, endpoint and browser, with real remediation (redact, revoke, delete, block) instead of another dashboard.

Five years in, we're Y Combinator-backed and in production at 75+ mid-market and enterprise customers including companies like Databricks, UiPath and Crypto.com. We're an Anthropic partner integrating with the Claude Compliance API, and a Slack, Notion, Zendesk and Intercom partner. The founder is an ex-Amazon Principal Engineer who built Amazon's payment security infrastructure.

The role

You'll be the technical owner of every new Strac customer, from first evaluation through long after signature. Your number-one job is getting proofs of concept to a technical win. Once a customer signs, you own their support. And because you're closest to customers, you'll turn what they need into clear, prioritized asks for our engineering team. You'll work alongside our account executives and directly with the CEO and engineers every day.

In priority order:

Win POCs. Qualify them with the AE, translate customer requirements into written success criteria and a time-boxed plan, run setup and onboarding (Slack, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot, MCP, endpoints and browsers), and proactively drive detection accuracy: review findings, dig into logs and model output, tune policies and prompts to fix false positives and negatives, and test the changes. Run demos, security reviews and the final readout to the security team.

Own live customers. Be the first and usually last line for escalations, config issues and accuracy problems on signed accounts, so our engineers can stay on the product.

Scale support. Build the docs, playbooks, tooling and AI agents that let customers and our support agent handle routine questions themselves.

Shape the roadmap. Turn customer feedback, feature asks and recurring issues into well-written, prioritized requirements, and work with engineering on what gets built next.

Who we're looking for

3+ years in a customer-facing technical role (solutions or sales engineering, forward-deployed engineering, technical support or customer success engineering) at a B2B security or infrastructure company. DLP, DSPM, CASB/SSE, email or cloud security experience strongly preferred

Genuinely technical: comfortable with APIs, OAuth/SSO, reading logs, and writing scripts or prompts to test and tune detections. Software engineering background is a plus

You've run enterprise POCs or deployments and can hold a room with a CISO or a skeptical security engineer

You can write a clear requirement and argue for its priority

Extreme ownership: a stalled POC or an unhappy customer is your problem to fix, not something to escalate

Clear writer, fast mover, uses AI tools aggressively

Former startup founder or early team member is a plus

Compensation

$100K-$140K base plus variable tied to POC conversion and customer retention, plus equity. Remote in the US.

Process

One 30-minute call with the CEO, a working session where you run a mock POC with our engineering team and account executive, references, offer. We move in days, not weeks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer proofs of concept from qualification through technical win.
  • Set up and onboard customer integrations across SaaS, AI tools, endpoints, and browsers.
  • Review detections, logs, and model output; tune policies and prompts to improve accuracy.
  • Run product demos, security reviews, and final readouts for customer security teams.
  • Own escalations, configuration issues, and accuracy problems for live customers.
  • Create documentation, playbooks, tooling, and AI agents to scale customer support.
  • Translate customer feedback and recurring issues into prioritized engineering requirements.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role at a B2B security or infrastructure company.
  • Experience with enterprise proofs of concept or deployments and communicating with security leaders.
  • Comfort with APIs, OAuth/SSO, log analysis, and writing scripts or prompts to test and tune detections.
  • Ability to write clear requirements and advocate for their priority.
  • Strong ownership, communication, and execution skills.

Benefits

  • Variable compensation tied to proof-of-concept conversion and customer retention.
  • Equity.
  • Remote work within the United States.
