Senior Staff Software Engineer, Networking

Axon

Seattle, Washington, United StatesFull-time$190,500–$304,800Posted Oct 27, 2026

About the role

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

Axon is expanding how its cloud platform runs across multiple clouds. As we grow our footprint across AWS, Azure and devices, our networking needs are getting more complex, and we are rebuilding our entire networking stack from the edge to service-to-service communications, as well as connections between clouds. As a Senior Staff Software Engineer you will be the technical leader for that work. You will set the architecture direction, make the hard trade-offs, and make sure the network underneath our products is reliable, secure, and fast enough for mission-critical use by public safety customers.

You will join forces with infrastructure, platform, security, and product engineering teams to design intra and inter-cloud connectivity that the rest of Axon can build on with confidence. Your deep networking expertise, built at an established company operating networking products or infrastructure at scale, lets you see problems early and steer teams toward designs that hold up under real production load.

You are a force multiplier. You raise the technical bar across the organizations, advise senior leaders on networking and cloud service strategy, and mentor the next set of technical leaders. You are comfortable with ambiguity, and you move large, cross-team initiatives forward by influencing people you do not manage.

What You’ll Do

Location: This role is based out of our Seattle Office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.
