Data Scientist
CHG Healthcare
About the role
Healthcare’s helping hand.
CHG shook things up in 1979 by inventing the locum tenens staffing model. We connect doctors with patients who need their care. As the largest physician staffing firm in America, our providers treat millions of patients each year.
Our industry is growing and demand is high. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your career. Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding
CHG is looking for a Data Scientist to join our Data Science team. You will build and ship models that help Sales and other business partners make better, faster decisions. Working alongside data engineers and analysts, you will turn raw data into reliable features, test your ideas, and explain the results in plain language. At this level, you own projects from question to production with light guidance, and you help newer teammates grow.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and validate machine learning and statistical models that solve defined business problems
Explore large datasets to find trends and insights, and partner with data engineers to create and refine the features your models need
Design and analyze experiments to measure the impact of data-driven initiatives
Present findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear way that supports decisions
Work with engineers, product managers, and business partners in an agile environment to put models into products and processes, following CHG data privacy and security standards
Qualifications
Explore critical relationships and make strategic recommendations
Work closely with the strategic analytics team and other key stakeholders
Set clear evaluation metrics and test your own work thoroughly before it ships
Explain technical results to non-technical audiences
Keep up with new data science and machine learning methods and bring ideas to the team
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field
3-5 years of experience building and validating machine learning or statistical models
3-5 years of experience using Python or R for data analysis and modeling
3-5 years of SQL experience writing medium to complex queries
Demonstrated experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and data visualization tools or libraries
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
Experience deploying models to production
Experience with Snowflake and dbt
Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms
