The role requires deep engagement with experimentation, data analysis, and NLU asset tuning to continuously improve conversational quality and intent/slot performance within established IVR solutions.

This is an execution-heavy position suited for someone who can ramp up quickly, contribute immediately, and operate with minimal oversight within an established delivery model.

Success in this role depends on strong analytical rigor, close collaboration with the onshore lead, and the ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations for leadership and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Run and interpret experiments related to intent recognition, slot-filling performance, utterance handling, and overall conversational quality

Perform hands-on analysis of interaction data, model outputs, and test results to identify issues and improvement opportunities

Tune intent descriptions, training data, prompts, and related NLU assets to improve performance

Work closely with the onshore lead to refine slot-filling approach, conversation behavior, and delivery priorities

Contribute to evaluation and implementation of LLM- and GenAI-related capabilities for NLU and intent understanding

Prepare clear summaries of findings, recommendations, and performance results for leadership and project stakeholders

Help drive execution against delivery timelines by identifying risks, resolving issues, and maintaining strong analytical rigor.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, NLP, or a related field

2+ years of building GenAI solutions

Strong hands-on experience with analytics, experimentation, model evaluation, and performance tuning

Experience working on conversational AI, NLU, chatbot, virtual assistant, or IVR use cases

Strong familiarity with Amazon Connect and Amazon Lex, or highly comparable experience with similar conversational AI platforms

Exposure to LLM, GenAI, or modern NLP techniques relevant to intent understanding and conversational AI

Ability to ramp up quickly and contribute immediate value in a delivery-oriented environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present work clearly to leadership and partner teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience tuning intent classification, slot-filling, fallback handling, or dialogue behavior in production environments

Strong Python and data analysis skills for experimentation, reporting, and model evaluation

Experience supporting prompt-based evaluation or LLM-assisted NLU workflows

Experience working in cross-functional delivery teams with onshore/offshore collaboration models.
