As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will help build the platform, automation, observability, and reliability practices that power Data Ventures. You’ll champion DevOps and operational excellence practices, own service reliability end-to-end, and build AI/GenAI-powered tooling that drives faster incident resolution and a best-in-class customer support experience.

About the team:

Walmart Data Ventures unlocks the value of Walmart’s data through scalable B2B solutions that empower merchants and suppliers with actionable insights for better decision-making.

Within Data Ventures, the Site Reliability Engineering team drives platform reliability, scalability, incident management, customer support, and operational excellence. What you'll do:

Build AI, GenAI, and agentic-powered platform capabilities — intelligent developer tooling, workflow automation, agentic services, and AI-assisted operational tooling (monitoring, incident triage, capacity planning)

Own platform reliability, scalability, and observability — SLOs, distributed tracing, alerting, and incident response for the services you build

Drive automation and AI-powered reliability — building self-healing systems that reduce manual intervention

Establish and continuously improve SRE standards across Data Ventures — unified dashboards, automation frameworks, observability practices, and incident management

Drive tight SLAs, reduce incident volume, and build resilience across 24x7 site coverage

Partner cross-functionally to accelerate Customer Support Excellence through automation and AI

What you'll bring:

Strong software engineering skills with experience developing and operating reliable, scalable distributed systems and cloud-native applications.

Solid understanding of SRE principles, including SLIs/SLOs, observability, alerting and incident management

Hands-on experience applying AI/GenAI and agentic technologies to reliability engineering, self-healing systems, intelligent incident response, and AI-powered customer support agents.

Experience building automation and observability solutions to accelerate incident resolution and improve service reliability.

Proficiency in programming, cloud platforms, microservices, data pipelines, containers, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code.

Demonstrated ability to drive the full SDLC, including CI/CD, testing, code reviews, deployment automation, production monitoring, and debugging.

Strong ownership and problem-solving skills to reduce toil, improve reliability, and enhance customer experience.
