Forward Deployed Engineer
Flossy
About the role
About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Flossy, you will be responsible for the successful technical deployment of AI agents for our strategic enterprise customers. This is a hands-on, client-facing engineering role where you’ll partner closely with clients to understand their needs, translate them into actionable build plans, and deliver AI solutions that drive measurable business impact. You’ll connect our agents to customer systems and bring them to life in real-world environments, ensuring they deliver tangible results for our customers.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to maintain tight feedback loops. You'll rapidly iterate on builds, identify and communicate gaps, and help shape the evolution of Flossy’s agent platform to reflect real customer requirements. This is the ideal position for someone who enjoys shipping technical solutions side-by-side with customers, all while balancing hands-on execution with strategic thinking.
What You’ll Do
Own end-to-end agent deployments for enterprise customers, from system design and requirements scoping through implementation, evaluation, and production launch.
Configure and engineer agent logic—including how Fiona, Betsy, Michael, and Reid behave for each customer—continuously improving quality, reliability, and accuracy across non-deterministic AI outputs.
Build and validate safety guardrails to ensure agents perform compliantly and predictably in real patient and client conversations.
Design, build, and test integrations with customer systems (practice-management software, phone systems, CRMs, scheduling platforms), including APIs and workflows suitable for large-scale, multi-location deployment.
Collaborate directly with technical and operational leaders at customer organizations to define requirements, establish success criteria, and deliver against project timelines.
Diagnose and resolve technical and model-behavior issues using root-cause analysis of call transcripts, execution traces, and system logs.
Create evaluation and regression tests to validate agent behavior and proactively catch performance drift.
Document learnings and collaborate closely with Engineering to convert recurring customer needs into scalable platform improvements.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in technical, client-facing roles such as forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, or technical consulting.
Strong technical foundation; confident writing code, working with APIs, and building plus validating end-to-end integrations.
Proven ability to deliver production-quality solutions to customers using structured execution, rigorous testing, and iterative improvement.
Excellent communication skills with both technical and executive stakeholders; able to translate requirements into actionable implementation plans.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where creative problem solving and adaptability are essential.
Bonus Points
Experience building with LLMs or AI agents (prompting, evaluation, safety guardrails, tooling, and workflow design).
Familiarity with integrations into practice-management, CRM, telephony, or scheduling systems, along with related security and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
Industry experience in dental, medspa, veterinary, wellness, or other appointment-based businesses.
Strong product instincts with an ability to define success metrics and feed customer insights into product development.
Why Flossy?
Flossy builds AI agents for the appointment economy—empowering multi-location businesses in dental, medspa, veterinary, and wellness to drive revenue and deliver superior customer experiences. Our agents answer calls, coach front-desk teams, fill schedules, and deliver measurable results.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll be essential to making our AI agents succeed in the real world. You’ll work closely with our founders and have real ownership over how our customers achieve success, all within a fast-growing and dynamic team.
