An AI-enabled insurance technology business building modern solutions for MGAs and insurance programmes. The platform connects complex insurance workflows with technology to streamline the journey from submission through to pre-bind.
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own the backend integration layer of an AI-enabled MGA platform.
Insurance industry experience is essential for this role.
What You'll Be Doing
Own third-party integrations end to end, from technical requirements through to production support
Build robust backend services supporting the pre-bind insurance workflow
Design and maintain integration patterns and API connections
Own schema mapping between external data structures and internal models
Work with complex insurance data models and workflows
Handle data transformation and integration challenges, including inconsistent or undocumented external systems
Work closely with the Squad Architect on integration and data architecture
Take ownership across the full software development lifecycle
Support and troubleshoot production systems
Contribute across the full stack where required to deliver complete solutions
What They're Looking For
Strong backend software engineering experience
Proven ownership of complex third-party integrations
Strong data modelling and schema mapping skills
Experience integrating APIs and external systems
Experience taking software through the full development lifecycle into production
Professional experience within the insurance industry
Understanding of insurance workflows and data structures
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex, imperfect data
Comfortable working closely with architects and taking ownership of technical decisions
Nice to Have
MGA experience
Program business experience
Knowledge of underwriting workflows
Experience with insurance submissions, quote workflows or policy lifecycles
Experience connecting to carrier or MGA systems
Experience within Guidewire, Duck Creek, Socotra or other insurance technology ecosystems
Experience with AI, agentic or LLM-based systems in production
Full-stack experience, with frontend skills supporting a primarily backend-focused role
