For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer II - Billing & Subscriptions Engineering (Remote Eligible) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will focus on building and improving scalable billing and subscription capabilities that support a modern software platform.
You will work on distributed services, cloud infrastructure, and API-driven systems while partnering closely with product and engineering stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-impact technical solutions.
The position also offers the opportunity to mentor engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and explore AI-enabled improvements to team productivity and workflows.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $175,000 – $245,000 annually
Responsibilities
Contribute to high-impact initiatives through FY28
Build scalable back-end services using Kotlin and Java
Solve distributed systems challenges with modern cloud infrastructure
Lead code reviews and facilitate architectural discussions
Mentor junior engineers on coding best practices
Collaborate closely with product management and cross-functional teams
Explore AI integration opportunities to enhance team processes
Qualifications
7+ years of software development experience in highly scalable, available applications
7+ years of experience with full stack technologies like Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript
3+ years working with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
1+ year of professional experience using AI to enhance productivity in SaaS
Experience developing and documenting REST APIs
Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
Strong critical thinking skills and excellent communication abilities
