Principal Data Scientist

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Data Scientist to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.
This role will lead advanced machine learning and Generative AI efforts that support data-driven decision-making across the organization. The individual will architect scalable data products, analytics tools, and production solutions while partnering closely with business stakeholders and technical teams. This position also includes mentoring data professionals and helping define the technical direction for modern AI and data science capabilities.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $144,200 – $288,400 annually
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and monitor advanced machine learning and Generative AI solutions
Build and maintain scalable data products and pipelines using Databricks
Architect self-service analytics and reporting tools for data-driven decision-making
Write and review production-quality code while establishing best practices
Drive the team’s technical roadmap and architecture for machine learning solutions
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs
Mentor and develop a high-performing team of data professionals
Qualifications
10+ years in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI with a proven record in production environments
6+ years of experience using Python, SQL, and Spark for production-quality solutions
4+ years of experience building scalable data pipelines on cloud-based architectures, particularly with Databricks
2+ years designing and deploying Generative AI applications, including Large Language Models
3+ years leading or mentoring data teams and translating business challenges into AI solutions
