Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Ads Ranking
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Ads Ranking to join the team of a leader in the Media space.
This role will lead advanced machine learning efforts that improve ranking quality and help shape the performance of advertising systems. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate model improvements into meaningful business outcomes. The position also calls for strong technical leadership, including setting direction for experimentation, evaluation, and scalable ML workflows in a fast-moving, data-driven environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $292,500 – $409,500 annually
Responsibilities
Develop advanced ML models and the workflows that improve them.
Use AI-assisted tools to analyze model behavior and automate processes.
Establish reliable processes for data analysis and performance optimization.
Design evaluation systems for model outcomes and workflow quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align modeling improvements with business impact.
Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and elevate modeling standards.
Qualifications
9+ years of experience in ML engineering or related fields with proven impact in production.
Demonstrated leadership at a Senior Staff level with cross-team influence.
Strong modeling expertise in data, architecture, and experimentation techniques.
Evidence of utilizing agentic AI tools for effective ML outcomes, not just efficiency.
Ability to create trustworthy evaluations for autonomous workflows.
Proficient in Python and familiar with modern ML frameworks and data tools.
Excellent communication and a collaborative, low-ego leadership style.
