About the Role

We are excited to offer a Fall 2026 internship opportunity designed for college students in the La Jolla, San Diego area who are able to commute to our office. As a Data Science / Software Engineer Intern, you’ll be handling real operational problems and the latitude to figure out how technology can solve them – prototyping ideas, testing what works, and helping push forward projects that genuinely change how the company runs. We run a modern stack (CINC, a custom Supabase data platform, HubSpot, RingCentral, n8n, and Google Workspace) and we use software, AI, and automation to do more with a lean team.

We’re building toward bigger things: AI systems that handle multi-step work end-to-end, internal tools that replace software we currently pay for, a continuously running engine that sources and scores acquisition targets, and live dashboards that leadership actually makes decisions from. You’ll contribute to that vision, and the more you bring curiosity and original thinking, the more you’ll get to own. This internship is offered for academic credit in coordination with your university.

What You’ll Do

Build and test n8n automation workflows that connect our tools and eliminate repetitive manual work.

Prototype and test new ideas: take a process that’s slow or manual, propose a better way, and build a working version to see if it holds up.

Help develop AI-powered workflows using the Claude and Gemini APIs, from simple drafting and extraction toward more ambitious multi-step systems that read inputs, make decisions, and produce finished work for human review.

Run recurring data-extraction jobs, such as pulling figures from HOA financial-statement PDFs into structured spreadsheets.

Support data cleanup, entry, and validation in our Supabase platform and across spreadsheets.

Help design, build, and test internal tools and dashboards that staff use day to day: including early versions of tools that could replace software we currently buy.

Maintain data quality in HubSpot, and support the competitive-intelligence and acquisition research process by gathering, organizing, scoring, and verifying company and contact data.

Document how workflows and tools function, and take ownership of well-defined projects from start to finish.

What We’re Looking For

Outside-the-box thinking. You don’t just complete the task in front of you. Ask whether there’s a smarter way to do it, and you’re eager to test your ideas rather than wait for permission.

Self-direction. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently in an unstructured, fast-paced environment with minimal hands-on oversight.

Comfort with technology. You’re not intimidated by new software, spreadsheets, or learning a tool on the fly. Exposure to any of SQL, Python, automation platforms, or AI tools is a plus, but resourcefulness and a willingness to learn matter more than a finished skill set.

Analytical aptitude. Strong analytical skills and an aptitude for breaking down data and business problems.

Communication. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse team members and explain what you built and why.

Genuine interest. Real curiosity for technology, automation, and AI, and how they can transform how a business operates.
