About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong Java and Spring Boot expertise to join a highly collaborative product and engineering team. In this client-facing role, you will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to design, build, and support scalable web applications and microservices.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into innovative and practical technology solutions.

This is a remote opportunity supporting teams based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with the potential for contract extension.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications using Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end technologies.

Build, enhance, and support RESTful APIs and microservices that enable scalable and high-performing business solutions.

Conduct technical feasibility assessments and provide solution recommendations to product and business stakeholders.

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

Write clean, maintainable, testable, and well-documented code following engineering best practices.

Perform code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development standards.

Troubleshoot application issues, support production environments, and drive timely resolution of defects.

Collaborate closely with product teams, engineering teams, and client stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.

Production-ready code deployments supported by automated testing and CI/CD practices.

Resolution of application defects, performance issues, and production support requests.

Contribution to cloud-based application deployments and operational excellence initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience.

Minimum 7 years of experience developing applications using Java.

Minimum 7 years of experience designing and building applications using Spring Boot.

Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.

Experience working in Agile software development environments.

Experience with software testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.

Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.

Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a client-facing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing front-end applications using React.js.

Experience with cloud-based application deployment and support.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience performing technical feasibility assessments and solution design.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience collaborating across product, engineering, and business teams.

Compensation Disclosure

Compensation for contractor roles supporting Accenture is determined by the contractor’s employer BCforward, and varies depending on factors such as location, role, skill set, and experience.
