About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience building cloud-native, event-driven applications utilizing Java, Microservices, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable distributed systems while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and high-performing software solutions.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in microservices architecture, cloud technologies, containerization, and modern software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy event-driven microservices solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Architect scalable, resilient, and high-performance cloud-based applications.

Evaluate technologies and provide recommendations for implementing common architectural patterns and solving complex business problems.

Design, publish, and consume event-driven messaging solutions using Pub/Sub and similar messaging technologies.

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and distributed services.

Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them through Kubernetes environments.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance, scalability, availability, and latency.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes.

Partner with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

Participate in code reviews, promote engineering best practices, and mentor junior developers.

Support production environments and resolve application issues as needed.

Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, software development trends, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on Java and cloud-native applications.

Hands-on experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.

Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud application development.

Experience building event-driven systems using messaging technologies such as Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar platforms.

Proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment processes.

Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software architecture patterns.

Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.

Working knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, DB2, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with additional programming languages such as Python or PHP.

Familiarity with UML modeling and software design methodologies.

Knowledge of DevOps practices and modern cloud operations.

Experience working in Agile software development environments.

Prior experience supporting enterprise-scale distributed systems.
