Data Scientist

About the role

At Farm Bureau Financial Services, we're looking for a Data Scientist who is passionate about using data to solve business problems, uncover opportunities, and drive decision-making across the organization. This role combines advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and business partnership to help leaders make smarter, data-driven decisions. The position supports marketing, sales & distribution, agency services and client member services through advanced analytics, modeling, business insights, and decision support.

What You'll Do

Design and conduct advanced analyses, statistical models, and research studies that support business objectives.

Analyze data to identify opportunities related to customer and agent segmentation, retention, marketing effectiveness, sales, distribution, and business performance.

Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics, modeling, and business decision-making.

Partner with business leaders to transform questions and opportunities into actionable analytical solutions.

Proactively identify ways analytics can improve business outcomes and decision-making.

Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Collaborate across teams to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions.

Mentor analysts and contribute to the growth of analytical capabilities across the organization.

Explore new analytical techniques, tools, and approaches that create business value.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field plus four years of relevant experience. Master's degree preferred.

Experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, data mining, or advanced analytical techniques.

Strong programming and data manipulation skills using SQL and Python

Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms preferred

Experience working with large and complex datasets.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships with business partners.

Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, with reliable and predictable attendance.
