Senior Software Engineer
About the role
TicketVault - Senior Software Engineer
Role Overview: As a Senior Software Engineer on our Relay team, you will dive deep into solving complex, high-impact technical problems across a dynamic inventory ecosystem with complete end-to-end full ownership. This role is designed for a seasoned practitioner who thrives on building robust systems, elevating code quality, and driving architectural decisions through hands-on excellence and operational rigor.
Our team brings together Product, QA, and Full-Stack Software Developers to power real-time ticketing solutions. You will take full responsibility for the systems you build—from initial code design to comprehensive data capture, continuous observability, proactive alerting, and long-term operational excellence. We value pragmatic engineering, continuous learning, and clear technical communication to turn challenging requirements into scalable, reliable software.
Who You Are: You bring deep domain intuition and technical craftsmanship to complex systems. You are someone who backs up decisions with data and proof-of-concepts rather than speculation. Focused on outcomes over ego, you care deeply about getting it right and helping the team grow through collaborative problem solving and constructive code reviews.
What You'll Do:
● Architect & Build with End-to-End Ownership: Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput backend services and public-facing APIs across our multi-tenant platform, taking full accountability from architecture through long-term production operations.
● Observability & Alerting: Embed robust data capture, structured logging, time-series metrics, and proactive Grafana/PagerDuty alerting directly into system designs and feature criteria.
● Raise the Engineering Bar: Lead code reviews, champion solid architectural patterns, drive continuous operational excellence, and continuously improve schema designs and system reliability.
● Collaborate & Solution: Partner with Product managers, QA, and Engineering Leadership to break down intricate business requirements into scalable, deliverable software designs.
● Drive Engineering Standards: Identify systemic technical gaps, help codify best practices, and mentor teammates across different skill levels.
What You Bring (Proven Experience):
● Core Mastery: Deep proficiency with C# / .NET 8+ and relational databases (T-SQL, schema design, and query optimization).
● Full Lifecycle System Ownership: Demonstrated track record of end-to-end ownership of production software stacks, including instrumenting telemetry, writing regression analytics, establishing alert thresholds, and supporting services post-release.
● Distributed Architectures: Comfort navigating multi-tenant environments, event-driven architectures, and messaging patterns (e.g., CQRS, pub/sub).
● Cloud Foundations: Hands-on experience deploying and managing services within cloud PaaS ecosystems (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Where You'll Grow (Open Mind & Mindset):
● Modern Frontend & Tooling: Willingness to touch frontend frameworks or CI/CD pipelines as needed—no need to be a guru, just open to learning.
● Azure & Observability Ecosystems: Opportunity to expand your expertise in Azure Service Bus, App Insights, Log Analytics (KQL), Grafana dashboards, and PagerDuty incident management.
● Domain Complexity: Eagerness to unpack real-time ticketing marketplace logic, scaling edge cases, and high-frequency data processing.
● AI & Automated Infrastructure: Curiosity and openness toward leveraging AI tooling within software engineering—specifically exploring automated infrastructure and deployment workflows. You don't need to be an AI expert, just resourceful and eager to make headway with team support.
