Job Summary

We are seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Dublin, Ohio. This role will focus on building, testing, and maintaining the foundational frameworks and infrastructure for a next-generation robotics software platform. The engineer will develop core software components that enable robotics and AI engineering teams to build, integrate, and operate advanced robotic systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain core software frameworks and platform infrastructure.

Build foundational software components that support robotics and AI applications.

Translate technical requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

Develop clear, well-documented code that can be easily understood and maintained by other engineers.

Apply test-driven development practices and create comprehensive test suites to validate functionality and requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on technically complex development projects.

Support the development and delivery of innovative software products from concept through production.

Contribute to software design decisions, architecture, and platform improvements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience bringing new products to market.

Experience working on technically complex software platforms, frameworks, or infrastructure projects.

Strong proficiency in C++ and software design principles.

Experience with test-driven development and building thorough software test suites.

Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into working software.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing medical devices, particularly under IEC 62304 or a comparable safety-critical software standard.

Experience with Python development.

Familiarity with robotic systems, computing hardware, embedded Linux, real-time operating systems, and sensor/actuator interfaces.

Experience working in a regulated environment, such as FDA, ISO 13485, or similar.

Experience working in a startup environment.

Familiarity with Robot Operating System 2 (ROS2)

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who has successfully built software platforms in FDA-regulated environments and understands how to balance innovation, safety, quality, and compliance. You have made architecture-level decisions that impacted an entire product ecosystem, thrive in cross-functional environments, and enjoy mentoring engineers while building scalable foundations for future growth.

This is a direct hire opportunity requiring onsite attendance five days per week in the Columbus, Ohio market. FDA medical device experience is a mandatory requirement.
