- About the Opportunity:
The Staff Applied Machine Learning Engineer - Intelligent Data, Signals & Systems role involves developing and managing production machine learning systems that transform customer behavior and product data into dependable signals for use in recommendations, ranking, decision-making, and customer intelligence. This position supports multiple teams by providing reliable model-derived data that informs growth, fraud prevention, risk management, and product decisions.
- Responsibilities:
Build and maintain production ML systems that generate trusted signals and decision capabilities from customer and product data.
Define data and signal contracts specifying their use, freshness, provenance, and reliability.
Manage end-to-end processes for ranking, retrieval, recommendation, search, propensity, and next-best-action systems.
Assess customer and business impact considering factors such as trust, fairness, risk, compliance, and long-term engagement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate goals into measurable ML system designs.
Utilize AI tools to enhance development, analysis, testing, documentation, and operational workflows.
- Requirements:
Over 12 years of experience building and operating production software and ML systems for critical business products.
Expertise in intelligent systems including ranking, recommendations, search, personalization, customer intelligence, and decision models.
Strong judgment in production ML areas such as feature pipelines, model serving, experimentation, monitoring, and feedback loops.
Ability to evaluate broader impacts beyond short-term metrics, focusing on trust, fairness, risk, and compliance.
Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, ensuring proper verification and testing.
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
