• About the Opportunity:

The Senior Software Engineer role involves developing and optimizing software systems that enable real-time decisions for satellite protection and management in low Earth orbit. This position plays a key role in designing and delivering reliable, secure, and high-performance cloud-based software solutions that support mission-critical customer requirements, including Department of Defense and Intelligence Community contracts.

• Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain full-stack software for critical space missions and contracts

Translate customer needs into engineering requirements through stakeholder engagement

Ensure system reliability, security, observability, and performance

Own software components through the full development lifecycle, including operation and support

Utilize generative AI to enhance software quality and security

• Requirements:

Active US TS/SCI clearance with DOD/IC mission experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

5+ years professional software engineering experience with cloud-based systems

Experience building, deploying, and operating distributed backend services

Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages

Knowledge of architecture patterns, service boundaries, message-driven workflows, and API design

Experience with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerized deployments

Expertise with relational databases and message brokers

Familiarity with observability and CI/CD practices

Strong communication skills and stakeholder collaboration

Willingness to participate in on-call rotations
