About the role

About the Role

We are looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to help build and deploy the embedded systems that power our navigation and autonomy products. This is a hands-on role spanning firmware, sensors, hardware integration, testing, and field support. You'll work closely with our engineering team to take systems from prototype through real-world development, troubleshoot issues in the lab and in the field, and help turn customer feedback into product improvements.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and maintain firmware for embedded devices, from early prototypes through production deployment.

Implement low-level drivers and hardware interfaces.

Integrate sensors, including IMUs, cameras, and time-synchronization systems, ensuring reliable data acquisition, synchronization, and logging.

Debug and test embedded systems in both laboratory and field environments; own root-cause analysis and drive issues through resolution.

Build, maintain, and troubleshoot custom wire harnesses and hardware interfaces.

Create and maintain integration documentation and technical support materials for customers and partners.

Support customer trials, demonstrations, and qualification testing, including onsite and remote technical support.

Translate customer feedback and field experience into clear technical requirements and product improvements.

Who We’re Looking For

Proven track record of hands-on firmware development for embedded systems.

Proficiency in C++ and Python.

Hands-on experience with the STM32 ecosystem, including writing or modifying embedded drivers.

Experience with robotics and real-time embedded systems, including troubleshooting sensor issues, timing, and timestamp synchronization.

Experience building, modifying, and troubleshooting custom wire harnesses.

Comfortable working with Linux-based development and testing tools.

Strong attention to detail, particularly around calibration procedures, reproducible testing, and clean release practices.

Collaborative and curious, with the ability to work across hardware, software, and field operations in a fast-moving engineering environment.

Bonus Skills

Experience with computer vision or visual-inertial systems, including camera/IMU pipelines and calibration concepts.

UAS/drone piloting experience.

Familiarity with MAVLink and PX4, ArduPilot, INAV, or other autopilot software.

Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2 (Robot Operating System).
