What You’ll Do

You’ll work on a small team building high-performance, mission-critical devices with low-latency communication requirements. Axon has a portfolio of robust imaging and communication products that help law enforcement do their jobs and keep people safe every day. In this role, you will tackle challenging engineering problems in spaces like audio/video processing and generative AI to bring new features and products from inception to scale, thoughtfully balancing speed and the high bar for stability necessitated by the mission-critical nature of our products.

Collaborate cross-functionally to architect and launch new user-facing features and products

Design and drive initiatives to improve the availability and reliability of our backend systems

Continuously help improve the engineering processes and tools that allow us to scale the codebase and team

Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers

Travel occasionally to support customer deployments and onsite implementations

What Makes You a Great Fit

5+ years of software engineering experience, including designing, building, and operating complex production systems.

Hands-on experience developing real-time communication platforms or other low-latency, real-time systems.

Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures.

Proven experience building highly available, fault-tolerant, and resilient services at scale.

Expertise in reliability patterns such as redundancy, failover, graceful degradation, recovery, and observability.

Demonstrated technical ownership of business-critical systems in which performance, uptime, and reliability are essential.

Experience adopting and effectively integrating AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and delivery

Base Pay Range

$141,000—$216,600 USD
