Forward Deployed Software Engineer

About the role

Hyper-growth, venture-backed AI startup building proprietary technology for real-world operations across supply chain, logistics, and SaaS organizations is looking to add several Forward Deployed Software Engineers to the team. The company recently raised $50 million and is open to to both early-career and mid-level engineers (1-6 years) who want significant ownership and the opportunity to solve real-world problems with customers.

The ideal candidate(s) will have a strong software engineering background and enjoy working directly with clients to solve complex, ambiguous problems. This role will involve owning technical deployments end-to-end and building solutions that leverage AI and modern software technologies to improve real-world business operations.

Preferred:

Strong software engineering background with experience building and deploying production applications

Experience working with Python and modern backend technologies

Background with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and cloud infrastructure

Experience working directly with customers or in a client-facing engineering role is a plus

Ability to translate complex business problems into technical solutions

Comfortable with end-to-end development, owning projects and deployments from initial discovery through production

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field

Bonus:

Experience with AI/ML or deploying AI-powered applications

Background in computer vision, robotics, automation, or industrial technology

Experience working in a startup or fast-paced engineering environment

Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems

Programming experience with Python, Javascript, Rust, Go, TypeScript, or similar languages

Previous experience in client facing capacity as: Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role

Masters in Computer Science or related field
