About the role

We are looking for an RPA Software Engineer to join a long-term contract opportunity in Auburn Hills, Michigan within the automotive industry. This role focuses on building and supporting intelligent automation solutions that streamline business operations, improve accuracy, and increase efficiency across multiple functions. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with workflow automation, software development, and system integration, along with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate operational workflows to uncover automation opportunities and recommend practical process improvements.
  • Build, test, implement, and enhance automated solutions using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, WinActor, and related platforms.
  • Partner with internal teams and business users to define requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and support successful delivery.
  • Investigate automation issues, perform root-cause analysis, and optimize workflows to maintain strong system performance and stability.
  • Maintain existing bots and automation assets while identifying ways to expand functionality and improve usability.
  • Create clear technical documentation, process guides, and user-facing instructions for deployed automation solutions.
  • Deliver user support and training to encourage adoption and effective use of automation tools.
  • Connect automation workflows with enterprise applications, databases, Microsoft 365 tools, APIs, file-based processes, and external platforms.
  • Develop scripts, utilities, and custom integrations to extend automation capabilities across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in automation engineering, RPA development, software engineering, or business systems support.
  • Working knowledge of workflow automation concepts, process mapping, and solution lifecycle practices including testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Power Automate, Microsoft 365, Excel, and related business productivity tools.
  • Programming or scripting experience with Python, C#, Java, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with databases, APIs, system integrations, and version control practices such as Git.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively and communicate clearly with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, automotive, or supply chain environments is preferred, along with experience supporting both Windows and Linux systems.
