About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic Investment Experience Technology team within USAA’s Technology group. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing high-impact solutions on our new investment services platform. Working in a fast-paced, agile environment, you will collaborate with a talented team to deliver scalable, high-quality software that enhances our digital-first investment solutions. You will work with a modern tech stack, including Go, Java, APIs, OpenShift, and other USAA technologies, to develop innovative tools that empower members and financial advisors alike. Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, or approved certification from recognized coding bootcamps (e.g., CodeUp, Galvanize, VetFIT, eFIT)

Minimum of 4 years of software development experience demonstrating technical expertise in relevant disciplines/technologies

At least 2 years of experience delivering full lifecycle technology solutions, including leading code and design reviews

Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, Swift, Objective-C, Cobol, JavaScript, Kotlin, C++, HTML, CSS, SQL, Go, and Python

Experience supporting production issues through troubleshooting applications and systems

Knowledge of cloud technologies and tools, with hands-on experience preferred

Strong business acumen in operations, risk management, and industry practices

Responsibilities

Design, develop, code, and thoroughly test complex technical solutions aligned with project requirements

Investigate and resolve intricate application and system issues in production environments through effective troubleshooting

Conduct comprehensive systems analysis to recommend and implement operational improvements

Prepare and install complex system solutions by defining specifications, standards, and programming requirements

Adhere to the software development lifecycle, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met

Participate in design reviews, contribute to system design principles, and learn best practices

Mentor junior engineers and review peer code to maintain high-quality standards

Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with policies and compliance
