Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Design, develop, and evolve software components and features for Wholesale Electricity Market Management (MMS) applications.
Work independently to contribute to the immediate team's goals, while participating in design discussions and code reviews across the broader group.
Identify task scope, provide accurate effort estimates, and deliver high-quality code within an Agile environment.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within MMS applications, supporting both development and production environments.
Collaborate with the team to translate requirements into technical implementation, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing, and automation.
Participate in whiteboarding sessions and technical design reviews to propose and refine software solutions.
Collaborate cross-functionally to align software deliverables with project timelines and product standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
3 years of professional software development experience.
2 years of experience working on software projects in the Energy domain (e.g., Energy Management, Power Systems, or Wholesale Electricity Markets).

Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis, software design patterns, and modern coding principles.
Hands-on experience with Java (backend development) and Python (scripting/automation).
Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL).
Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Maven, Jenkins).
Understanding of Market Management Systems (MMS) or Energy Management Systems (EMS) is highly preferred.
Experience with containerization (Kubernetes/Docker) or cloud-native architectures is a plus.
Familiarity with observability/logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, ELK) is a plus.
Ownership: Ability to take ownership of medium-sized tasks and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities; capable of breaking down complex problems and documenting clear technical approaches.
Collaboration: Comfortable working in a team environment; shares knowledge and seeks feedback to improve design and development.
Adaptability: Proactive in learning new technologies, processes, and domain-specific knowledge (Energy Markets/ISO-RTO operations).
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate technical ideas clearly in a collaborative setting.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $109,480.00 and $164,220.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
