Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer. The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that support Finstock’s AI-driven investment tools and analytics platforms. Daily responsibilities include implementing scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions, writing clean and efficient code, and performing code reviews and testing to ensure quality and performance. The role involves collaborating with data scientists, quantitative analysts, and product teams to integrate models and business requirements into production systems, as well as troubleshooting issues and optimizing existing services. The Software Engineer will also contribute to technical documentation, participate in agile development processes, and help improve development practices and tooling.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles.

Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language such as Python, Java, C#, or Go.

Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration with databases or external services.

Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their application in designing modular, maintainable systems.

Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases, and familiarity with performance optimization and secure coding practices.

Comfort with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development in an agile environment.

Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, manage time independently, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience in financial services, quantitative systems, or data-intensive applications is a plus.
