Responsibilities
- Build training, evaluation, and inference workflows for machine learning models
- Create reliable feature and dataset pipelines with data engineers
- Deploy model services and monitor model quality, latency, and reliability
- Write automated tests and investigate training or inference failures
- Partner with data scientists and product engineers to turn evaluated models into maintainable features
- Lead technical design and delivery for complex initiatives in this role, making tradeoffs explicit
- Mentor colleagues and improve review, documentation, and operational practices
Qualification
Required
- Practical experience building and deploying machine learning systems
- Strong Python skills and software engineering fundamentals
- Experience with a machine learning framework and reproducible model evaluation
- Understanding of data leakage, feature consistency, model serving, and monitoring
- Ability to troubleshoot production systems and collaborate with a remote team
- Demonstrated experience owning complex projects from design through production or business adoption
- Ability to lead technical decisions, review others' work, and mentor colleagues
Preferred
- Experience with PyTorch, containerized model services, or workflow orchestration
- Familiarity with recommendation systems, retrieval, distributed training, or inference optimization
