Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Machine Learning). The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications that power Clairyon’s clinical AI platform, including both front-end user interfaces and back-end services. Daily responsibilities include implementing production-grade machine learning integrations, building APIs to ingest and process real-time clinical and sensor data, and optimizing data pipelines and model serving infrastructure for performance, reliability, and security. The engineer will collaborate closely with data scientists, clinicians, and product teams to translate research models and clinical workflows into scalable, user-centric software solutions. Additional tasks include code reviews, unit and integration testing, documentation, and contributing to architectural decisions and best practices across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

Demonstrated proficiency in Full-Stack and Software Development, with strong hands-on experience in Python and TypeScript, including experience owning features from design to deployment.

Strong Back-End Web Development skills, with experience building secure, scalable APIs and services.

Experience integrating machine learning models into production systems, including model deployment, performance monitoring, and iterative improvement.

Strong, hands-on experience building AI agents and RAG architectures using modern orchestration tools (LangChain, LangFlow, DSPy).

Solid understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

Proficiency with relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, and efficient query design for high-volume clinical or sensor data.

Experience with clinical and device data, including healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR.

Experience in healthcare, healthtech, or regulated environments (HIPAA, security and compliance standards) is highly beneficial.

Commitment to writing clean, testable code and maintaining high engineering standards in a mission-driven setting.

Front-End Development expertise, including modern JavaScript frameworks and responsive UI implementation.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (5+).

Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with clinical stakeholders.
