Principal Java Software Engineer

Design & Develop Applications: Design and develop software applications using the Twelve-Factor App methodology based on functional requirements.
UI/Frontend Development: Build innovative, accessible, and responsive user interfaces and web components using Angular, React, JavaScript (ES13+), TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
Microservices & Backend: Design and develop microservices and RESTful APIs with Java, Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
Batch Processing: Develop and maintain enterprise Java batch applications using JSR 352 and schedule jobs with Control-M.
Web Services: Create SOAP and REST web services, implement security (WS-Security, OAUTH2/JWT), and ensure interoperability and efficient message transmission.
Database Integration: Develop data access layers (DAO) for IBM DB2 and PostgreSQL databases using JPA or Spring Data.
Cloud & DevOps: Deploy cloud-native applications on AWS/OpenShift; implement DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, containerization (Docker), and automation tools.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Develop unit, integration, and BDD test frameworks using JUnit, Mockito, PowerMock, Cucumber, and Gherkin; utilize static code analysis (SonarQube).
Documentation & Collaboration: Document solution architectures (Visio, Confluence), create UML/design documents, and actively participate in technical discussions with cross-functional teams.
Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance and support to junior/mid-level developers; act as a hands-on technical lead.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess emerging technologies to recommend improvements in developer experience and delivery efficiency.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure web components meet Section 508 compliance; address security vulnerabilities and code quality issues.
Performance Tuning: Optimize application performance for scalability, throughput, and low-latency, especially for cloud environments handling large data/traffic volumes.
Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned or directed to support project and organizational goals.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor s Degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field
10+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, React
Experience as a hands-on technical lead
Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools
