Role Description The Full Stack AI Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end software components for SP8CEAI’s payload processing platform, including backend services, APIs, and user-facing tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing AI features and integrations, optimizing data pipelines, building robust, secure services, and collaborating with robotics and space systems engineers to translate mission requirements into reliable software. The role also involves reviewing code, improving system performance, writing tests, and contributing to architectural decisions that support scalability and resilience in space environments.
This is a full-time, hybrid initial then on site role based in the United States, with a mix of on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
Strong backend engineering skills, including experience with server-side frameworks, API design, microservices, and database development.
Proficiency in frontend development using modern JavaScript frameworks, UI component libraries, and responsive design practices.
Experience with AI and machine learning workflows, including model integration into production systems, data preprocessing, and performance optimization.
Knowledge of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
Solid software engineering fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, testing, code review, and version control (e.g., Git).
Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, document technical decisions, and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience or strong interest in aerospace, robotics, embedded systems, or real-time processing is highly beneficial.
