Software Engineer II (Java / Angular / HL7) - Contract to Hire - 100% Remote

Optomi, in partnership with a leading healthcare technology organization, is seeking a Software Engineer II to join a collaborative engineering team focused on building and enhancing applications that support healthcare revenue cycle operations. This is a backend-focused full stack opportunity where you'll spend the majority of your time developing Java and Spring Boot applications while contributing to an Angular front end. This team values engineers with strong coding fundamentals who enjoy solving complex technical problems and taking ownership of their work. This position is looking to interview and hire ASAP!

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot

Build and enhance RESTful APIs and backend services

Contribute to Angular-based front-end development for internal and customer-facing applications

Support and enhance existing production applications while developing new features

Troubleshoot application issues and optimize application performance

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices

Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and fellow engineers throughout the software development lifecycle

Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Experience of the Right Candidate

3-5 years of professional software development experience

Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot

Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular

Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs

Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or MariaDB

Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, and Agile development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within healthcare technology, healthcare revenue cycle management, insurance claims, billing, or payment processing

Exposure to HL7 or X12 integrations

Experience with Apache Tomcat, Redis, Jenkins, or Linux

Experience working in Azure or AWS environments

Self-motivated engineer with excellent communication and collaboration skills
