Our client seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support web-based insurance applications. The role requires building robust business applications that enable product sales, customer engagement, and agent communications. The engineer will stay current with internet trends, technologies, and best practices, solve problems, analyze workflows, collaborate across teams, communicate effectively, and contribute hands-on while guiding others to promote partnership and collegiality.

Rate: $65.00 to $70.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities
Work with Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into design.
Develop high-quality source code.
Create unit test cases.
Support functional and system integration testing and perform deployments.
Integrate component designs.
Support production as needed and meet development schedules.
Experience Requirements
7+ years of professional experience with Java/J2EE, object-oriented design, design patterns, XML, DB2, and SQL.
Proficiency with design artifacts such as class, sequence, and activity diagrams.
Desirable: P&C insurance domain, WebSphere, JBoss, Mule ESB, rule engines such as Drools, JUnit, Hibernate or MyBatis, Spring, web services, and Unix shell scripting.
Experience designing and developing SOAP and REST web services.
Preferred front-end experience, ideally with AngularJS.
Knowledge or experience with P&C and homeowners or renters insurance.
Knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies.
Knowledge of diverse technologies and modern architecture principles.
Understanding of layered system architectures and layered solution design.
Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and work ethic.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
Java developer and web component certifications preferred.
