We are seeking an accomplished Senior Applied Data Scientist to develop and deliver advanced AI, machine learning, optimization, and analytics solutions for complex real-world business and operational challenges.
This is a hands-on senior technical role for someone who can independently take an ambiguous problem from definition through development, productionization, and measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities
Own complex data science and AI initiatives from problem definition through production deployment
Develop solutions using machine learning, AI, optimization, physics-based modeling, and advanced analytics
Partner with software engineers and technical teams to build scalable, production-ready solutions
Evaluate technical approaches and make decisions around methodology, architecture, performance, and scalability
Use modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar for coding, debugging, prototyping, and problem-solving
Translate complex technical work into clear recommendations for business and technical stakeholders
Deliver measurable outcomes such as cost reduction, automation, increased efficiency, improved reliability, or risk reduction
Qualifications
10+ years of relevant industry experience in applied data science, advanced analytics, engineering, ML/AI, optimization, or related disciplines
Deep hands-on expertise in machine learning, AI, optimization, physics-based modeling, or advanced statistical methods
Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver complex technical solutions
Experience working closely with software engineering teams to productionize data science/ML solutions
Strong understanding of production systems and software development practices
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical work clearly to non-technical audiences
Proven record of connecting technical solutions to measurable business or operational impact
Experience within energy, utilities, industrials, manufacturing, logistics, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive environments is highly desirable.
The strongest candidates will combine deep technical expertise with independent ownership, production experience, strong communication skills, and a track record of delivering measurable real-world results.
