AI Software Engineer

About the role

I’m partnering with a growing SaaS technology company on a unique AI Software Engineer opportunity for a developer who is excited about where AI is taking software development.

This team has transitioned to an AI-first, spec-driven development model where agentic AI handles much of the code generation. Engineers provide the technical judgment, context, direction, testing, and product ownership needed to turn customer problems into high-quality software.

This is not an AI/ML model-development role. It’s a software engineering position for someone who knows how to build software traditionally but is excited about using AI to build faster and differently.

What You’ll Do

Use agentic AI development tools to build and deliver SaaS features

Translate product requirements and specifications into effective AI-driven development workflows

Review, test, troubleshoot, and refine AI-generated code

Make technical decisions around architecture, APIs, databases, performance, and scalability

Own features from initial requirements through deployment and production

Partner closely with Product Managers and potentially directly with customers

Mentor less-experienced developers and help establish AI-first development best practices

What We’re Looking For

Strong professional software development foundation

TypeScript / JavaScript experience

Cloud development experience; Microsoft Azure preferred

RESTful API and database experience (SQL and/or NoSQL)

Strong understanding of architecture, data structures, testing, and debugging

Experience actually building software with AI, whether professionally or through personal projects

Strong ownership mentality - you’re someone who takes a project and gets it across the finish line

Curious, adaptable, customer-focused, and genuinely excited about AI-native software development
