About The Role

The Boeing Company is seeking an Application Software Engineer, either at the Associate or Experienced level, to join our Phantom Works Weapons team located in St. Charles, Missouri, within the St. Louis area. This team is instrumental in supporting future weapons programs, including the Next Generation Cruise Missile initiative. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects where interdisciplinary collaboration, systems thinking, and technical creativity converge to develop next-generation capabilities. The successful candidate will work on complex software solutions, engaging with multiple stakeholders and programs to address challenging engineering problems. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access, emphasizing the importance of U.S. citizenship and adherence to security protocols.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, data science, or related fields. For the Associate level, candidates should have 2 or more years of relevant experience, while the Experienced level requires at least 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and professional background. An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is essential, along with U.S. citizenship. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in C++, Python, and C#, with experience in Linux development, version control systems like Git, and familiarity with network architectures utilizing TCP/UDP protocols. Knowledge of software architecture development, open systems, and experience with software development processes aligned with industry standards are highly desirable. Strong analytical skills, adaptability, and a passion for solving complex problems are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software throughout the entire lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, safety, and regulatory standards.

Analyze customer requirements and translate them into initial software design concepts.

Develop interface definitions and perform unit and integration testing to validate functionality.

Participate in peer reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

Support software system integration and testing activities, troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Create comprehensive software documentation to facilitate future maintenance and upgrades.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet operational and security requirements.

Continuously seek process improvements to enhance software development efficiency and quality.
