About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Phantom Works team in Berkeley, MO. This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance and offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge open architecture systems and integrated software solutions for space-based effects supporting air domain missions. As a key contributor, you will be involved in designing, developing, and testing complex software systems that are critical to national security and technological advancement. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, leading software development tasks, and mentoring junior engineers to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or related fields, along with a minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience. Candidates must have an active Top Secret U.S. security clearance. Proficiency in Java and/or C++ object-oriented programming is essential, with at least 5 years of experience. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience leading software development projects and 1 year working with MATLAB. Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as experience with DevSecOps practices, version control, and continuous integration tools, is preferred. Strong communication skills, customer orientation, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, coding, and testing of software features to meet customer requirements, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and translate them into detailed software specifications and models with clear traceability.
Conduct system-level analyses to identify risks, issues, and opportunities, leading mitigation efforts throughout the software lifecycle.
Perform code reviews to ensure compliance with requirements and standards, fostering best practices within the team.
Oversee testing activities, including verification, validation, and issue resolution, to ensure software performance and reliability.
Review product and process adherence to project plans and industry standards, tracking team and supplier performance metrics.
Mentor and coach junior engineers, promoting professional development and technical excellence within the team.
Interface with various programming languages and development tools, supporting integration and deployment activities.
