AI Engineer (FDE)

New York City - Onsite (up to $500k+)

We're working with a high-growth AI company building and deploying production systems for enterprise customers. This is a hands-on engineering role: real codebases, real users, and software that has to hold up once it's live.

You'll be a well-rounded, full-stack engineer who's comfortable owning work end-to-end, from the front end through backend services and infrastructure. Alongside that, you'll work closely with customers to understand their problems and ship AI-driven solutions that fit into how their teams actually operate.

What you'll do:

Design, build, and maintain modern web applications end-to-end, across React/TypeScript and backend services.

Build and ship agentic AI applications using modern LLMs, integrated into real enterprise systems and data.

Own architecture, implementation, and deployment. Nothing gets handed off.

Ramp fast into unfamiliar codebases, from greenfield to legacy.

Use agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and whatever ships next) to move quickly without dropping quality.

What we're looking for:

3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with production software shipped on a team.

Strong full-stack ability: React/TypeScript on the front, Python and/or Node and backend infrastructure behind it.

Hands-on experience building agentic applications with LLMs, RAG, or similar.

Comfort operating with high autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving situations.

A formal computer science or engineering background is a plus, as is prior tech lead or founder/CTO experience.

Public GitHub, side projects, or shipped work that shows real technical depth is a strong signal.
