My client is a Series A robotics startup rethinking industrial automation with smarter robots, a radically better software stack, and a business model built for speed. Their core platform enables AI-powered robots-as-a-service with zero custom engineering and minimal deployment friction. That means we can drop into customer facilities at 10x lower cost and with 10x more flexibility than legacy players.
We are looking for a Robotics Software Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join the R&D team and build the software that powers AI-driven robots in real-world production environments. You are an exceptionally strong programmer who thrives on solving hard, cross-stack problems — from microcontroller firmware to cloud infrastructure. You'll work on-site in Watertown, MA alongside a collaborative, low-ego team shipping code that directly impacts the physical economy.
This is a rare opportunity to build from the ground up at a Series A robotics startup that deploys its technology at 10x lower cost and 10x more flexibility than legacy automation players. If you're motivated by atoms, not electrons, this role is for you.
What will you be doing?
Orchestrating real-time robot code, motion planning optimization systems, and machine learning pipelines across a variety of platforms
Building and maintaining data labeling frontends, perception systems, and optimizing compilers for robot intelligence
Flexing up and down the robotics stack — from firmware to cloud infrastructure — to tackle the most pressing technical challenges
Collaborating closely with teammates around a whiteboard to design and ship systems that enable ordinary robots to achieve extraordinary things
Deploying directly into customer facilities, ensuring every line of code translates to real-world robotic performance
Requirements:
5 - 10 years of experience in software engineering for robotics, automation, or embedded systems, with Python proficiency
Built software for physical robotic systems (arms, manipulation, or autonomous hardware)
BS or higher in CS, Robotics, or related engineering field
Exceptionally strong programming fundamentals across languages (Python required, TypeScript/React a plus)
Experience at an early- stage startup (Series A or earlier)
Worked on motion planning, perception, or ML for robotics
MS/PhD in robotics, computer vision, or ML
Experience with ROS, motion planning, or robot optimization
Proficiency with infra tools: Docker, Kubernetes, systemd
Must work on- site in Watertown, MA full- time
Open to visa transfers only; no new sponsorship
Join a company where research and deployment work in lockstep — every line of code you write moves real atoms in real factories. The team culture is low-ego and high-ownership with fully covered health insurance and strong comp.
