About the Opportunity:

The SOFTWARE ENGINEER, DATA PLATFORMS role involves developing fullstack features spanning backend APIs, data pipelines, and React frontends. This position contributes directly to delivering client-facing data services and maintaining platform infrastructure with a focus on reliability and access control. The engineer collaborates across teams to translate requirements into production systems, improving development frameworks and ensuring system resilience.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement fullstack features including backend services, data pipelines, and frontends.

Manage data delivery and platform infrastructure components such as exports and access control.

Define work scope based on outcomes and guide coding agents through development and architecture review.

Develop and maintain services using Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript.

Contribute to data modeling, schema design, and query optimization for relational and document databases.

Collaborate with research engineering, operations, and product teams to operationalize platform needs.

Enhance development frameworks and evaluation tools to support agent-driven workflows.

Diagnose and resolve production issues, building observable and resilient systems.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

0 to 5 years of software engineering experience or demonstrably strong projects as a recent graduate.

Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with experience in CRUD applications using FastAPI, Flask, and React.

Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQLite and data modeling principles.

Experience deploying services on major cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure.

Proficiency using coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) as part of development workflows.

Ability to convert desired outcomes into development plans, guide agents, and assess architectural challenges.

Understanding of agent loops, multi-context processing, integrations, permissions, and security.

Familiarity with context management, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation techniques for testing agent workflows.

Preferred:

Exposure to reinforcement learning concepts including tasks, actions, and rewards.

Experience with coding data pipelines or task-authoring platforms.

Knowledge of continuous integration/deployment and DevOps basics.

History of contributing to team projects, open-source initiatives, or startups.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

Base salary, equity compensation, and potential performance-based bonuses subject to role and company policies.
