- About the Opportunity:
The Senior Software Engineer I - Platform Enablement role focuses on building and maintaining core platform systems that support multiple product teams. This position is crucial for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of shared infrastructure components such as approval workflows, permissions, authentication, and notifications. The role directly influences the effectiveness and productivity of the entire organization by providing foundational technical services.
- Responsibilities:
Own and enhance cross-cutting platform systems including approval workflows, permissions, authentication, and notifications
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and subject experts to deliver integrated solutions
Lead complex projects by breaking down tasks and planning migration paths that avoid disruption
Develop efficient, secure backend code using Ruby on Rails
Design and optimize data models and SQL queries using PostgreSQL
Conduct code reviews and mentor peers to maintain high technical standards
Improve engineering tools, processes, and best practices
Participate in on-call rotations to promptly resolve production issues
- Requirements:
Experience building production web applications and APIs, preferably with Ruby on Rails
Strong architectural judgment for shared, cross-team systems
Self-directed with a high ownership mentality
Background in platform, infrastructure, or enablement teams
Familiarity with approval workflows, RBAC, identity/auth products is a plus
Collaborative with the ability to align architecture and business goals
Comfortable using AI coding assistants and developing AI-enabled tools
Effective communication skills
Experience with Agile/Scrum planning and two-week cycles
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries (PostgreSQL preferred)
Attention to detail and customer-focused mindset
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
