SETA C2 Software Engineer (TS/SCI)
About the role
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced C2 Software Engineer (SETA) to support Space Systems Command’s Battle Management, Command, Control, Communications & Intelligence (BMC3I) portfolio. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert focused on developing, integrating, and sustaining mission-critical software solutions for National Security Space programs. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in software engineering, data integration, Palantir technologies, and Agile development practices within classified DoD environments.
Work Environment:
Full-time, on-site role in El Segundo, CA supporting Space Systems Command’s BMC3I portfolio. This position works closely with government stakeholders, software engineers, systems engineers, and operational users to deliver next-generation capabilities supporting national security space missions.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain mission-focused software solutions supporting operational command and control and space battle management missions.
Design and implement data integration pipelines, messaging architectures, and workflow automation solutions.
Leverage Palantir Foundry, including Foundry Transforms, Ontology SDK, Pipeline Builder, and related capabilities to support mission applications.
Develop MOSA-compliant software architectures that support interoperability across space, air, ground, cyber, and terrestrial mission domains.
Support software integration, configuration, deployment, sustainment, and modernization efforts.
Implement Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps best practices to deliver secure, scalable software solutions.
Coordinate with Program Managers, Product Owners, System Engineers, operators, and government stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission requirements.
Support system engineering activities including requirements development, CONOPS creation, integration planning, and technical documentation.
Enable multi-domain data fusion and operational decision-making through modern data engineering and application development practices.
Document technical solutions, architectures, workflows, and engineering decisions to support sustainment and knowledge transfer efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field; or Master’s degree with 12+ years; or PhD/JD with 9+ years.
6+ years of experience supporting software engineering, systems integration, application development, or platform implementation within DoD, Intelligence Community, SAP, or SCI environments.
Experience working with Palantir Foundry, Gotham, or similar data integration and decision-support platforms.
Experience supporting the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
Experience with data integration, APIs, workflow automation, data modeling, and enterprise software architectures.
Experience supporting Agile software development teams and collaborating across technical and mission stakeholders.
Strong understanding of modern software architectures, system integration, and mission application development.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Clearance Requirement:
Active Top Secret clearance required.
Ability to obtain and maintain SCI and SAP access.
Willingness to consent to a polygraph examination.
Preferred:
Experience implementing or supporting Palantir Foundry and/or Gotham in operational or mission environments.
Experience supporting National Security Space, Space Force, SSC, or BMC3 programs.
Experience with data ontology development, workflow automation, and operational application configuration.
Experience integrating C2 systems, intelligence systems, readiness data, or space domain awareness platforms.
Experience building operational dashboards, mission applications, and decision-support tools.
Familiarity with CJADC2, joint domain operations, DevSecOps, platform engineering, and hybrid cloud environments.
Strong systems engineering mindset with the ability to connect technical implementations to operational mission outcomes.
Compensation:
Salary range: $160,000 - $195,000 (Pay based on years of experience and education)
