About The Role
Design, develop, customize, and maintain enterprise and local applications and reusable components supporting Shipping, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems. Design enterprise-wide application frameworks using strong knowledge of application architecture, enterprise integration, and distributed systems. Analyze logistics and supply chain processes to identify automation and efficiency improvements through software solutions. Understand business unit requirements and functional workflows to design effective system solutions, ensure compliance with change control and SDLC standards, perform technical evaluations of packaged products and new technologies, and coordinate with Business Analysts, QA, Architecture, production operations, and deployment teams to ensure thorough testing and smooth releases. Estimate, design, code, and test software components; write efficient, maintainable code and technical documentation; Perform on-call responsibilities for production support of critical applications as required. Use standard web technologies such as Java, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful services, XML, Tomcat, and JBoss, including Groovy based custom scripts and integration of workflows using EDI standards to build large and complex analytics applications and build enterprise applications in Matson’s Shipping and Logistics domain.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience Required:
5 years of progressive experience as Software Engineer, Senior Software Developer, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation.
Special Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in each of the following:
Designing, customizing, and implementing enterprise application modules to extend existing functionality, improve performance, and support evolving business and logistics requirements using Java, J2EE, Hibernate, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and groovy-based custom scripts.
Developing backend services and RESTful APIs to support scalable, reliable enterprise applications using Java-based frameworks.
Analyzing business and functional requirements and developing maintainable, deployable application components utilizing at least two of the following technologies: Git, GitHub, Jenkins, and/or AWS services.
Customizing and integrating system workflows to enable reliable data exchange and operational interoperability across internal systems and external partners using EDI standards, REST APIs, and message queues.
Implementing system integrations and data-exchange workflows supporting Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) platforms to ensure cross-platform communication and data consistency.
Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, code reviews, and deployment playbooks.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams (product management, QA, DevOps, and UX/UI) to deliver quality features and support production releases.
Some telecommuting permitted (hybrid).

$170,681 to $177,500 per year
