We are recruiting for a Forward Deployed Software Engineer based in Los Angeles for a manufacturing technology company whose software platform runs inside factories building rockets, electric aircraft, autonomous vehicles, and defense systems.
This company has built its engineering organization around a model where engineers are the customer team -- there is no separate customer success layer. You will be embedded at customer facilities in the LA area approximately two days per week and working out of the company's El Segundo office the rest of the time, building custom software solutions that solve real operational problems for your customers.
The role requires someone who can write production-quality code across a full stack and operate in front of executive-level customer stakeholders at the same time. Strong relational database fundamentals, SQL and Postgres in particular, are the primary technical requirement. Python and React are the stack.
What you bring:
- Prior experience owning both technical delivery and client or customer relationships simultaneously
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge -- Postgres preferred
- Full-stack development experience with production deployments
- Comfort presenting and problem-solving in front of executive-level stakeholders
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or Data Science, or equivalent background
- Consulting, professional services, or customer-embedded engineering background is a strong plus
- Background in aerospace, defense, robotics, or advanced manufacturing is valued but not required
