Position Title: Full-Stack Software Engineer
Location Information Kansas City, MO
Position Responsibilities:
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will play a critical technical and leadership role in the design and development of enterprise full-stack web applications. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, building, and deploying secure, scalable, and production-grade applications leveraging modern technologies both on-premise and in the AWS cloud environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and maintain robust full-stack web applications using C# and .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core Web API, Entity Framework Core, and Angular 17+ within a cloud-first architecture.
Model, optimize, and evolve complex relational database schemas using SQL Server and PostgreSQL, with cloud integration utilizing AWS Aurora and RDS services.
Architect solutions for AWS deployment, incorporating best practices and utilizing services such as API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS on Fargate, S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and KMS.
Implement SOLID, Clean Architecture, and Domain-Driven Design principles, advocating for high standards through code reviews and pair programming.
Lead the adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Copilot Chat), developing prompt libraries, improving code generation guardrails, and advancing secure prompt-driven development workflows across the engineering team.
Integrate LLM-powered capabilities such as natural language chat, summarization, classification, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) using Azure OpenAI or AWS Bedrock, ensuring secure data boundaries (e.g., PII/PCI/PHI guardrails).
Develop and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and contract tests (using frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, Jasmine, Karma, Playwright), targeting high coverage for mission-critical services.
Drive CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to build, test, security scan, and deploy infrastructure to AWS using CDK or Terraform as IaC tools.
Implement observability using OpenTelemetry, and publish operational metrics and traces to monitoring platforms (CloudWatch, Managed Grafana) for system health and diagnostics.
Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and quality assurance to break down large projects into deliverable user stories for iterative sprints, while also mentoring junior and mid-level engineers (2–4 direct technical mentees).
Participate in the on-call rotation for services, serving as a primary contact during business hours and secondary backup during off-hours.
Essential Skills, Experience
8+ years of professional software engineering, with at least 5 years building and supporting production C# / .NET applications.
Strong command of ASP.NET Core Web API and Entity Framework Core, including modern .NET features such as async/await, dependency injection, minimal APIs, and middleware development.
Hands-on expertise developing front-end applications with Angular 15+ (preferably Angular 17), including RxJS, state management (NgRx or Signals), standalone and lazy-loaded components, reactive forms, and thorough unit testing.
Depth in relational database design, including schema modeling, indexing, query optimization, execution plan analysis, stored procedures, and database migrations, with hands-on experience in SQL Server and at least one of PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Demonstrated success deploying and operating workloads in AWS, working with core services such as IAM, VPC, API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS on Fargate, RDS/Aurora, S3, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and KMS.
Expertise in SOLID principles, software design patterns (Repository, CQRS, Mediator, Strategy, Factory), and clean-architecture layering, with a track record of promoting best practices across teams.
Fluent with AI-assisted software development, leveraging GitHub Copilot and Copilot Chat for productivity, prompt engineering, code suggestion evaluation, automated test generation, refactoring, and in-code documentation. Ability to mentor others in adopting and maximizing these tools.
Experience integrating LLM APIs (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or OpenAI) and implementing data safety and validation patterns, including input validation, PII redaction, output filtering, and prompt injection protection.
Proficient with source control using Git, experienced in collaborative workflows (trunk-based or GitFlow), and enforcing disciplined code reviews.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation such as design documents, architectural decision records (ADRs), and runbooks.
Qualifications:
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
AWS certifications (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Associate, or higher) are a plus.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), including Helm for deployment automation.
Expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, such as AWS CDK (TypeScript/C#) or Terraform.
Experience in event-driven architecture, leveraging AWS EventBridge, Kafka/MSK, or Kinesis.
Knowledge of micro-frontend or module-federation front-end patterns.
Familiarity with AI-related cloud services, e.g., vector databases (pgvector, OpenSearch, Pinecone) and RAG pipelines.
Prior experience working in regulated industries (banking, healthcare, insurance) and understanding of security/compliance (SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
Contributions to open-source .NET or Angular projects are a strong plus.
