About The Role

The Strategic Data Scientist at CoverMyMeds plays a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making and strategic insights that support the company's growth and customer success. This position is responsible for analyzing large datasets, developing predictive models, and delivering actionable insights that enhance product value and operational efficiency. The role involves collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams, including business units, client-facing teams, and external partners, to understand their needs and translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives.

The ideal candidate will focus on maximizing the impact of analytics by prioritizing high-value work that directly influences commercial outcomes. They will build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders by demonstrating the value of data-driven insights, supporting strategic initiatives, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. This role requires a proactive approach to analyzing portfolio performance, assessing market trends, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance client satisfaction and business performance.

In addition to technical expertise, the Strategic Data Scientist will develop a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, healthcare landscape, and CoverMyMeds’ product ecosystem to deliver relevant and impactful insights. Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, business, public health, or a related field; healthcare experience strongly preferred.

5-7 years of experience in an analytics role within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.

Strong understanding of data science methodologies including decision trees, multivariate analysis, segmentation modeling, factor analysis, regression analysis, forecasting, and machine learning.

Experience with statistical software such as Python, R, MATLAB, SAS, or similar tools.

Proficiency in SQL for data querying and management.

Intermediate to advanced skills in data visualization tools like Tableau, Excel, or similar.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data issues quickly.

Strong communication skills to effectively present insights and manage stakeholder expectations.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support strategic decision-making.

Develop and implement predictive models to forecast outcomes and identify key drivers of performance.

Build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams by demonstrating the value of data insights through compelling storytelling and visualizations.

Monitor portfolio health, conduct performance analyses, and provide regular updates and recommendations to stakeholders.

Identify opportunities to enhance product value and analytical efficiency through process improvements and innovative solutions.

Support complex client requests and issue escalations by providing expert analysis and actionable recommendations.

Contribute to strategic planning by providing insights on market trends, industry developments, and competitive positioning.

Develop expertise in CoverMyMeds’ products, the pharmaceutical industry, and healthcare landscape to deliver relevant insights.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analytics initiatives with business goals and customer needs.
