Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer at Runn Technologies. The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain backend services that power the RunnSmart platform, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new features, integrating third-party advertising APIs, optimizing data processing pipelines, and improving existing codebases using modern software engineering practices. The role also involves collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions. The Software Engineer will help improve developer tooling, monitor production systems, and ensure secure, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.

Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar).

Hands-on experience with Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and working with databases.

Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and experience applying OOP concepts in production code.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control (e.g., Git) is preferred.

Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment with clear communication and self-management skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience in ad tech, data engineering, or AI-driven platforms is a plus.
