Role: Senior Java Backend Developer / Lead Developer
Duration: 4+ Months
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)
We are seeking a Senior Java Spark Developer/Lead to join our Market Risk Technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java, Apache Spark, Spring Boot, and distributed systems, and a proven ability to design, build, and optimize scalable risk analytics platforms that compute VaR, stress testing, and large-scale data processing
Required Skills:
8+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
Strong hands-on programming experience in Java.
Strong hands-on experience with Apache Spark, preferably using Java.
Mandatory professional experience in Market Risk Technology or Market Risk analytics.
Experience with Spring Boot, microservices, OOP, and design patterns.
Strong knowledge of distributed systems, data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.
Experience building scalable, high-performance data processing platforms.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies.
Experience with Linux/Unix and scripting.
Familiarity with Redis, Apache Pinot, Snowflake, and databases is a plus.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
Background in investment banking, financial services, or FinTech is preferred
