Role Overview

A Software Engineer – Salesforce is responsible for developing and supporting enterprise Salesforce platform capabilities that enable product and engineering teams to build, integrate and operate scalable solutions.

The role combines Salesforce development, platform engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, security, integration and observability, with a focus on reusable platform services and improving developer productivity, reliability and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain reusable Salesforce platform capabilities, packages, services and automation supporting multiple product teams.

Support Salesforce platform governance, including security controls, access management, compliance, architecture standards and platform best practices.

Design and maintain Salesforce integrations using Salesforce APIs, REST APIs, event-driven architecture and cloud-native services.

Build API enablement solutions, including custom services deployed on AWS ECS and integrated through API management platforms such as Apigee.

Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, deployment automation, release processes and environment management.

Implement monitoring, telemetry, alerting, observability and operational dashboards to support platform reliability and performance.

Develop reusable Apex components, packages, automation and Salesforce platform extensions.

Provide platform guidance, integration support, architectural reviews and technical enablement to solution teams.

Contribute to platform architecture, technology evaluations, technical standards and platform roadmaps.

Perform root cause analysis, resolve platform defects, manage technical debt and improve platform stability.

Contribute to automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across architecture, product, operations, security and engineering teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

3+ years of experience engineering and supporting Salesforce Platform solutions, with exposure to governance, security, platform operations, DevOps, integration and enablement.

2–5 years of software engineering experience developing and supporting enterprise applications in Agile environments.

Hands-on experience with:

Salesforce / Apex

Lightning Platform

Salesforce APIs

Packaging and deployment frameworks

Salesforce security and access controls

Salesforce monitoring and operational tooling

Experience developing reusable platform services, shared components, managed or unmanaged packages, or developer enablement capabilities.

Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows for Salesforce and cloud-native applications.

Experience with modern programming languages including Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java or Groovy.

3+ years of experience designing, developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS or GCP.

Experience deploying and operating containerized workloads using ECS, Kubernetes or equivalent orchestration platforms.

2+ years of experience designing and implementing REST APIs and integration services.

2+ years of experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging and Kafka.

Experience with Apigee or equivalent API management platforms strongly preferred.

Experience implementing enterprise monitoring, telemetry, observability and operational support practices.

Technical Competencies

Strong understanding of Salesforce platform engineering, security, governance and access management.

Knowledge of software development standards including code reviews, static analysis, secure coding and automated testing.

Proficiency with Git, branching strategies, release management and deployment automation.

Strong DevOps knowledge across CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, configuration management, monitoring and observability.

Ability to troubleshoot complex Salesforce, cloud and integration issues using logs, telemetry and monitoring data.

Strong understanding of scalable, reliable, secure and maintainable platform engineering practices.

Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to engineering and business stakeholders.

Strong collaboration skills across architecture, development, product and operations teams.

Continuous improvement mindset focused on developer experience, platform adoption and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

Salesforce Administrator certification or related Salesforce certification.

Experience with enterprise Salesforce platform engineering.

Experience with AWS or GCP cloud-native development.

Experience with API management, Kafka, Kubernetes/ECS and event-driven architectures.

Strong background in DevOps, platform engineering and cloud infrastructure.
